"Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that.  Don't be impressed with yourself. Don't compare yourself with others.  Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life."  Galatians 6:4-5 the Message

Art adds beauty to the world, but it also pulls the beauty out of us.  So often we neglect the creativity and beauty in our hearts and miss seeing Beauty.

In life, the creative process and personal growth, detours, pain, and mistakes inevitably pop up; but through the creative process we discover beauty in mistakes and purpose in pain and detours.  This is a life-changing discovery: our pain is the path to beauty and leads us to the cross.  At Intentional Art, we explore and celebrate this process.  We remind ourselves of the beauty  in our hearts and choose not to withhold that from the world. Intentional art experiences invite us into this discovery in order to turn our eyes to Jesus and see His beauty that transforms us.

    Workshops and Creative Experiences

Young Artists Summer Workshops: All Intentional Art Young Artists Workshops focus on exploring and developing artistic skills along with “heart” skills to build character, self-worth, positive mindsets, and gratitude.

    • Young Artists Summer Workshop LOVE LIFE Series (4th grade and up): Celebrate life through the art of seeing (photography and drawing), the art of letting go (painting), the art of nurturing  (“living” jewelry making and sculpture) and the art of savoring  (3-D projects engaging our senses). Join us for a single day or two or for all four consecutive days. Class size limited to 7 artists.
    • Young Artists Summer Workshop Mixed Media Journaling (4th grade and up): This mixed media workshop explores the art of words, books, spray inks, and more. We will cultivate the heart skills of gratitude and positive mindsets as we repurpose books, get messy with spray inks, and explore creative writing and journaling.  After this 2 day workshop, you will walk away with a beautiful journal, bookmaking skills, and a positive mindset. This class is limited to 7 artists.

Creative Experiences: Creative experiences are a combination of Bible study with correlating art projects.  Join us for an in-person workshops for those 16 years old and up, enjoy the self-paced, online experience, or gather a group of your friends and walk through the study material with our books, art tutorial videos and teaching videos to supplement the study material and create your own Intentional Art group experience.

    • Joined to Jesus (Jesus + Art Series):  This Seven Week creative Bible study integrates truths from the book of Ephesians with reflective journaling and hands-on creative projects.  Purchase your book, art supply kit, and art tutorial video bundle or register for an in-person experience to explore specific ways to live as an expression of Christ as we remember where we have come from with thankful hearts; yield, in humility and wonder, to the nearness of God; embrace the process of being made new; live from a place of approval and abundance; and stand as a victorious expression of Christ to the world.
    • The Beautiful Exchange (Jesus+Art Series): Through six chapters and six corresponding art projects designed to embrace the Beautiful Exchange, we are invited to put Christ in His rightful place and position our hearts to make room for a beautiful exchange.  Light for darkness: to venture into our interior and find Him. Comfort for mourning: to feel deeply. Confidence in His character for confusion: to trust Him as we wait during the confusing middle. Rest for weariness: to declare of our freedom and delight in and dependence on Him as we stop for 24 hours each week. Beauty for ashes: to recognize our limits and surrender to His limitlessness.  Purchase your book, art supply kit, and art tutorial video bundle or register for an in-person experience.
    • Cultivating Quiet: the Ancient Arts of Bookmaking & Prayer: This online experience includes teaching videos and art tutorials along with a study guide to help you explore stillness, discernment, and surrender through prayer while creating your own book from scratch.

These experiences have given me a richer view of God and His beauty. I’ve learned to create out of worship, dig deeper into the Word and even how to express suffering through art. With meaningful guidance, I learned a new way to spend time with our Heavenly Father.

    Devin B.

This study was more than I expected. Yup, I’m learning fun art techniques. But I’m also learning how God sees me, and that’s simply life changing...

    -Sara D.

I was craving an artistic outlet, but it has also made me hungrier to dive into the Word. As a result, I have been learning more about myself, my walk with God, and how to creatively represent what God is revealing to me through this experience.

    -Liz F.

Intentional Art was an experience that brought color to my grey.
